Optimized Bandwidth Aggregation: A New Solution for Managing WAN Cost and Performance |
January 13, 2011 |
In order to mitigate the risks of network outages, organizations are deploying multiple Internet Service Provider (ISP) connectivity to provide data communication services to business users. However, since organizations are already investing in redundant connectivity for business continuity, disaster recovery, and high availability purposes, they want to get more out of these investments than just the ability to conduct seamless failovers when one of the connections goes down.
Freedom Networks, a company providing solutions for bandwidth aggregation and load balancing, recently announced two new solutions for optimized bandwidth bonding and load balancing. These solutions integrate some of the core capabilities of WAN optimization solutions such as compression, caching, and acceleration with the advantages of aggregating multiple network connections into a single "pipe" and load balancing capability. This report from TRAC Research examines how these solutions align with some of the key goals that organizations have for managing network traffic. Click here to download the report |
